The word “ROC” comes from the first half of Rocca, the family name of the Italian winery owner. In the early 1950s, the World War II was just over, and the world was in the period of post-war reconstruction. The senior Rocca decided to migrated to Australia with his family for a better life.
As soon as they came to Australia, the Rocca family settled down in the famous Barossa Valley in South Australia. With their love for wine, Mr. Rocca and his family jointly founded the Rocland Eestate – Rocland winery in 1952. Ever since, Junior Rocland has been officially born.
At first, the Winery only provided storage facilities for some wineries in the Barossa Valley, and then developed to provide oak barrels and storage tanks for all wineries in the Barossa Valley. After a significant transformation, in 1999, Franc, the second-generation owner of Rocland Estate, took advantage of the resources accumulated by Rocland for decades and started our own wine-making history.
In 2012, Rocland Estatey was awarded as Dark Horse Winery in Australia, and the only one in South Australia to be selected in James Halliday Winemaker.
As a red five-star Winery in Australia, Rocland Estate focuses on the production and development of its own medium and high-end fine wines. It has a famous team of elite winemakers headed by Sandra. Most of the members of the winemaker team come from well-known and long-standing wine companies. The wines produced by the team have won many international awards and enjoyed high reputations.
